Rein operates an insurtech platform that enables rapid deployment of collaborative insurance programs between carriers and data-driven ecosystems and improves risk analysis. Founded in 2015 by Steve Rabbitt, the company is based in Chapel Hill, NC; Maynard, MA; and Halifax, NS. Following its latest Series A funding round the company has raised $14.3M to date. Rein showcased its platform at Volvo Financial Services’ iLabX accelerator and will continue partnering with VFS to explore customized data-driven solutions. The companies plan to launch the product in the USA during the first half of 2020, with the aim of a future global offering. The platform is intended to increase safety and improve the overall insurance experience for Volvo Group customers. Rein offers a data-driven platform designed to create usage-based and custom insurance products, using data, machine learning and modern tools to help companies bring new insurance products to market faster. The company focuses on emerging risks in mobility, robotics and online ecosystems. Rein was founded in 2015 and is led by CEO Christopher Dean. It has offices in Chapel Hill, NC; Maynard, MA; and Halifax, NS. Its wholly-owned subsidiary, Acend Insurance Solutions, LLC, is a licensed surplus lines producer nationwide. Rein's first insurance product, DroneInsurance.com, is a web- and mobile-ready dashboard offering tailored drone insurance coverage for commercial pilots.
