    Terapet is developing a personalized quality‑assurance device for heavy ion (carbon ion) therapy to enable patient‑specific QA at carbon ion treatment centers. The company is working in a consortium with Yonsei University’s Heavy Ion Therapy Center and Oncosoft Inc. to deploy the device at Yonsei Cancer Center, South Korea’s first carbon ion therapy center. The collaboration officially begins on November 1, 2023 and will run for three years. Under a bilateral Innosuisse–KIAT program the partners have secured CHF 1,835,000 and KRW 1,500,000,000 dedicated to the project; the press release states all partners are fully funded. Terapet cites prior support from Venture Kick (including Venture Kick Stage 3 in 2020) and participation in Venture Leaders Life Sciences (2020); it was listed among TOP 100 Swiss Startups from 2021–2023. The company positions the work as enabling safer, more precise ion therapy treatments, particularly for critical tumour types and pediatric patients. Terapet is a Geneva-based Swiss MedTech company developing next-generation nuclear imaging technology. Its first product, Qualγscan, is a proton therapy quality‑assurance device designed to provide, for the first time, real‑time dose distribution assessment. The technology was developed in collaboration with CERN and Politecnico di Milano and will be validated with clinical partners at the Karolinska Institute and Skandion Clinic. Terapet announced a CHF 2.3M first closing of a Pre‑Series A round to commercialize Qualγscan and to fund R&D for additional nuclear imaging products. The company is building its first full-scale prototype for clinical validation. Terapet is partnering with world-class R&D partners including CERN, Karolinska Institute and Skandion Clinic to form two consortia. Those collaborations are funded through the Eurostars program and Innosuisse and will run for three years starting 01.02.2021. The Geneva-based startup has been awarded about CHF1,530,000 in non-dilutive funding to support prototype development and the consortia. Innosuisse has supported Terapet since project inception through training, coaching, mentoring and an initial Innovation Cheque for the CERN collaboration. Terapet develops a medical device that monitors proton dose delivery in vivo, non-invasively, in 3D and in real time, addressing uncertainty in current protontherapy treatment plans that rely on simulations. The system aims to ensure each patient receives the correct proton dose precisely localized, reducing margins around tumors and limiting damage to healthy tissue. By enabling dose verification during treatment, Terapet says providers can treat more patients and more types of cancer, while saving time and cost during therapy. The device is designed for minimal integration cost across different proton therapy centers. The company cites a current addressable market of CHF 750 million with projected growth to CHF 3 billion by 2030. Terapet plans to continue prototype development, expand R&D activities, and grow its team using recent funding. Terapet SA is developing a novel medical device that enables doctors to monitor delivered proton dose inside patients in‑vivo, non‑invasively, in 3D and in real time. The technology aims to make proton therapy safer, more precise and time‑saving, addressing challenges particularly important for children and tumours near critical organs. Terapet says its solution can ensure every patient receives the right dose and could help make proton therapy more affordable and accessible. The company has raised an oversubscribed CHF1 million seed financing to advance the technology and prepare it for clinical validation.
