Tin Can is a Seattle hardware startup that sells screen-free, Wi-Fi–enabled landline-style telephones designed specifically for children. The devices operate on a private network and pair with a companion app, giving parents modern safety controls while eliminating the addictive elements of smartphones and social media. Since the flagship product’s launch earlier in 2025, the company has gone viral, selling out its first two production runs and amassing a wait-list approaching six figures. Tin Can currently employs 17 people and reports that demand continues to outstrip supply. The new capital will be used to ramp up manufacturing capacity, hire additional engineers and customer-support staff, and begin laying the groundwork for international expansion. Co-founders Chet Kittleson (CEO), Graeme Davies, and Max Blumen previously worked together at the real-estate startup Far Homes.
