  Zzish offers an intelligent formative assessment platform and educational app marketplace that gives teachers and parents instant insight into each child’s learning gaps and recommends tailored follow-up exercises. The platform measures mastery through interactive games and assessments, learns which learning resources are most effective, and suggests proven follow-up activities. It also serves as a platform for developers to create, distribute and monetize educational applications. The company reports 155,000 teachers from 170 countries and two million students using its tools. Zzish plans to use new capital to accelerate global expansion and to extend its product further to parents, particularly in the US and Asia. The company is led by CEO & Founder Charles Wiles and is based in London, UK. Zzish operates a digital platform that brings multiple learning apps together under a single annual subscription. The platform is used by 73,000 teachers and 1 million students across 110 countries. Founded by Charles Wiles, Zzish aims to bridge the gap between app developers and the classroom. The company raised over £1.3m via a Crowdcube campaign to support expansion. Investors in the campaign included Leaf Investments, Neil Hutchison and some 160 other investors. Zzish intends to use the funds to roll out its product further internationally. Zzish builds an app-creation platform that handles much of the backend work for education app developers and a central teacher dashboard that tracks student performance and identifies learning gaps across multiple apps. The platform lets developers plug into a multi-million-dollar backend to add education-specific features quickly, while the dashboard gives teachers consistent, actionable insight and real-time visibility into strengths and weaknesses. Zzish also operates its own app, Quizalize, which integrates with the platform and enables teachers to create quizzes and track results. To date Quizalize has attracted 25,000 teachers from more than 100 countries. The company is a Techstars London accelerator graduate and is led by co-founder and CEO Charles Wiles, formerly a product manager at Google. Financially, Zzish announced a further £700,000 in funding, bringing total raised to £1.5 million.

  BlikBook is a cloud-based engagement platform that enables higher-education lecturers and students to interact and share questions and answers. Lecturers use the platform to manage questions and student engagement outside lectures, while students use it for additional academic support from lecturers and fellow students. The solution can be integrated into existing Learning Management Systems. Launched in 2010 by Cheyne Tan, Barnaby Voss, Ben Hall and Deepak Colluru, the company recently raised $1.3M in funding. It intends to use the funds to strengthen its London team and establish its headquarters in Dublin, Ireland. BlikBook will also invest in business development, community management and technology development across its two offices.
