  Maps Untold is an AI-powered personalised city guide that delivers hyper-personalised travel recommendations based on users' tastes, interests and previous experiences. Founded in 2021 by Dennis van Ravenstein and Gabriella Gomes Branco and headquartered in Eindhoven, the platform asks a few simple questions and returns curated lists of hidden gems, offbeat cafés and venues often absent from mainstream guides. Its recommendation engine draws on millions of data points and integrates with external digital environments including hotel apps, tourism platforms and reservation software. Maps Untold offers its technology free to partners, who benefit from added value and co-generated revenue through bookings and ticket sales, and the model is designed to support local independent businesses. The company plans to officially launch in roughly two months and is using recent funding to finalise its minimum marketable product, expand its user base, and enhance data infrastructure and algorithms to scale coverage across Europe and beyond. By the end of the year it aims to exceed 250,000 monthly active users and generate at least €10k in monthly recurring revenue to validate its monetisation and scalability.
