- Ygrene Energy Fund
Led · Equity · Dec 2016
Ygrene administers PACE financing that enables property owners to fund energy efficiency, renewables, water conservation, and certain resilience projects through property tax assessments via its YgreneWorks program. The program offers immediately accessible financing with no upfront payments in participating jurisdictions. Since its 2010 inception, Ygrene has approved over $1.85 billion in improvements and says its financed projects created more than 9,000 local jobs and generated about $1.5 billion in annual economic stimulus. Ygrene is headquartered in Santa Rosa, California, and is approved to provide PACE financing in over 319 cities and counties across California, Florida, and Missouri. It is the first PACE administrator to issue asset-backed securities that received AAA ratings from a major credit ratings agency. The company expects YgreneWorks to create tens of thousands of jobs and invest billions of dollars into local economies over the next five years. The recent capital infusion supports continued growth and program expansion. Ygrene Energy Fund is a developer and administrator of residential and commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing programs. Its Clean Energy Programs provide privately funded and immediately accessible financing for renewable and energy-efficiency upgrades, including cool roofing and insulation, energy-efficient windows, high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, solar photovoltaic and hot water systems, and net-zero landscaping. The company partners with more than 100 cities and counties in California and Florida and has funded tens of millions in residential and commercial property upgrades, including the $3.1M Metro Center renovation in Sacramento, which was the nation’s largest PACE project at the time. Ygrene is led by President and CEO Stacey Lawson and newly appointed COO Mike Cary. The firm raised $30M in growth capital from Virgo Investment Group and will use the proceeds to grow its channel contractor network, expand its national presence, and accelerate market awareness for PACE financing. Ygrene operates as a program developer and administrator of clean energy financing throughout the United States.
