London-based Rightcharge has developed a software platform that connects drivers’ home energy accounts, public charge cards and fleet vehicles into a single billing system, enabling automated, tax-compliant reimbursement for electric-vehicle charging. By crediting payments directly to electricity bills, the service maintains accuracy as tariffs change, reduces fraud through AI-driven anomaly detection, and produces HMRC-compliant audit trails. A companion public charge card gives access to more than 70 % of UK public chargers, while all costs flow into one consolidated monthly invoice. Early adopters include The Automobile Association (AA) and fleets across construction, healthcare and government sectors. Customers report up to 90 % reductions in charging costs, roughly 30 % lower carbon emissions and significantly reduced administrative work. The company plans to use new capital to expand across Europe, supported by a partnership with Octopus Electroverse. Rightcharge recently closed a seed funding round to finance these growth initiatives.
