Founded by former Carousell and Fave executives and launched in January 2021, Rainforest buys profitable, mostly Asia-based Amazon brands with the ambition of becoming an e-commerce version of Newell Brands. After acquisition, it drives growth through inventory management, cost optimization, and expansion into new marketplaces and distribution channels. The company has already purchased six brands, including its first Chinese brand for $3.6 million, and plans to triple its portfolio by year-end. Management claims acquired brands have posted more than 50% increases in annual growth rates post-integration. Following the latest fundraise, Rainforest now has more than $50 million earmarked for additional acquisitions. The firm is also investing in tech infrastructure and has added senior talent, hiring former NimbleSeller co-founder Yev Ivanko as VP of Acquisitions and marketing veteran Christine Ng as VP of Brands.
