RattanIndia Finance is a newly formed NBFC capitalized with Rs. 2,600 crore (US$400 million) jointly invested by affiliates of the Lone Star Funds and the RattanIndia Group. Rajiv Rattan will serve as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer with full responsibility for day-to-day operations. The company says its current capitalization is expected to place it among the top 10 NBFCs in India. RattanIndia Finance is deploying its capital to provide lending to companies and small-to-medium sized businesses and plans to steadily build a retail lending platform across India. All relevant regulatory approvals have been received and the firm has established offices in Delhi and Mumbai. Lone Star and RattanIndia each own 50% of the business.
