Tryb Group operates as an umbrella fintech enabler in Southeast Asia, taking equity stakes in promising businesses and acquiring established firms rather than operating as a conventional single-product startup. The company aims to digitize predominantly analog financial services in the region and to make local credit and capital markets more accessible to global investors. Tryb started out acting as a VC but shifted to actively building and collecting businesses under its group structure. It holds stakes in a number of businesses, including MC Payment, which is in the process of going public in Singapore. Tryb currently does not make direct revenue from its group operations, but the company expects two forthcoming acquisitions of established enterprise businesses to generate revenue once finalized. Management sees potential synergies with Makara’s portfolio companies and plans to expand offerings across lending, financing and capital markets access for ASEAN credit.
