Investment portfolio

  • Manifold Technology

    Participated · Series A · May 2018

Manifold built a distributed ledger platform on top of Amazon Lambda to provide serverless, scalable blockchain infrastructure. Founded by Chris Finan and Robert Seger in 2014, the team draws on intelligence and cybersecurity backgrounds (DARPA, NSA, White House, Morta Security). When enterprise adoption lagged, Manifold pivoted to consumer applications and launched Volley, a blockchain-backed augmented-reality marketplace currently in beta on the Apple App Store using ARKit. Volley includes a decentralized reputation system intended to make fake accounts expensive and improve trust and safety for buyers and sellers. The company plans an Android version in the future and views Volley both as a consumer product and a way to prove its serverless blockchain for potential enterprise reuse. Manifold raised a $7 million Series A to support this consumer direction.
