  FR8 Revolution develops FR8Star.com, a cloud-based marketplace and set of data-driven tools for moving flatbed and oversize/overweight freight. The platform provides pricing estimates, optimal shipping routes, real-time freight tracking, a freight rate calculator that factors third-party expenses, and enables qualified open-deck carriers to bid on high-value loads. FR8Star also offers fuel advances and instant pay at drop-off to eliminate unnecessary factoring fees for carriers. The company completed a technology partnership and an undisclosed investment from Sandhills Publishing that integrates FR8Star services into Sandhills’ industry platforms. The integration is intended to give Sandhills’ customers access to instant freight estimates and the ability to schedule loads for items bought through Sandhills’ marketplaces. Founded in 2015, FR8 Revolution aims to expand reach and efficiencies in the open-deck freight transportation industry. FR8 Revolution develops free, data-driven, cloud-based tools for carriers to manage fleet schedules, identify available capacity on freight routes, and sell that capacity to shippers. The platform lets shippers manage and track spot loads in real time while a mobile app provides drivers with tools to manage life on the road. The solution is currently in Beta with a planned open-platform launch this summer, and is delivered via web and mobile with integrations into a variety of carrier systems. The company was incubated by BCG Digital Ventures and intends to use the new funds to scale operations and product development. Financially, FR8 Revolution has raised nearly $10m to date.
