Anaergia is described as a global renewable fuels leader. The company entered an amended agreement for a previously announced strategic equity investment totaling C$40.8 million from Marny Investissement SA. The first tranche closed for gross proceeds of C$12.5 million with the issuance of 31.25 million units. Each unit consists of one subordinate voting share and one-fifth of a subordinate voting share purchase warrant, exercisable at C$0.80 for three years. The remainder of the investment is expected to close in two additional tranches (C$13.6M and C$14.7M) by March 15, 2024, subject to customary conditions. A nominee of Marny, Ronen Kantor, has been appointed to Anaergia’s board of directors. Anaergia provides sustainable solutions that convert organic waste streams into renewable resources, focusing on renewable energy generation and waste-to-resource conversion. Its portfolio of proprietary technologies maximizes renewable energy generation, diverts waste from landfill, and reduces greenhouse gases for municipal, industrial, commercial and agricultural customers. The company’s core technologies are in use at over 1,600 biogas anaerobic digestion plants worldwide, and it offers regional services through 14 offices in Europe, North America and Asia. Subsidiaries and affiliates include UTS Biogastechnik in Europe, Pharmer Engineering and The Stover Group in the United States. Anaergia is led by CEO Steve Watzeck and Chairman and Chief Technology Officer Dr. Andrew Benedek. The company closed a C$47.5m equity financing and intends to use the proceeds to develop new projects.
