Prosensa is a Dutch biopharmaceutical company developing RNA-modulating therapeutics, primarily antisense oligonucleotide exon-skipping compounds, for rare neuromuscular diseases. Its lead DMD candidate (GSK2402968/PRO051) is in Phase III clinical trials in partnership with GlaxoSmithKline. The company has advanced five additional DMD compounds and announced preclinical testing for a Myotonic Dystrophy (DM1) compound, plus preclinical programs for Huntington’s disease. Prosensa’s technology aims to restore functional dystrophin protein expression via exon skipping. The company is privately held and backed by a consortium of venture investors.
