Dracula Technologies is a French company that eliminates the need for batteries in connected devices by converting indoor ambient light into electricity through its proprietary LAYER printed organic photovoltaic (OPV) technology. The firm’s modules are integrated into sensors, asset trackers, and smart building devices, enabling long-life, sustainable Internet of Things deployments. At its Green MicroPower Factory in Valence, the company is transitioning from sheet-to-sheet to roll-to-roll inkjet manufacturing, a move that will raise annual production capacity to 600 million cm² and maintain yields near 95 percent. Dracula Technologies is already executing multi-year, high-volume contracts with global customers looking to replace traditional batteries. Management sees a €10 billion market for battery replacement technologies that could grow fivefold by 2030, positioning the company for rapid expansion. Longer term, the team plans to open additional manufacturing sites closer to key geographies while continuing to grow its workforce in France.
