Akamas is a Milan-based cloud software platform that uses AI and reinforcement learning to optimize applications and their underlying technologies across cloud and Kubernetes environments. The platform runs sequential experiments to explore configurations, compares data across runs, and optimizes applications in production, testing, and pre-production to improve performance and reduce costs. The company raised $10M in its first institutional funding round led by Italian venture capital firm United Ventures. Proceeds will accelerate product development, support expansion into North America, and fund hiring across engineering and go-to-market teams, including establishing its first US office in Boston. Moviri Group, Akamas’s parent, will retain a strategic minority position while operational control transitions. CEO and co-founder Luca Forni framed the round as a major milestone for the company’s US entry, and United Ventures highlighted Akamas’ approach to simplifying cloud and Kubernetes optimization.
