The product roadmap includes Beacon Money, a forthcoming set of purpose-built everyday financial solutions tailored to immigrants’ needs. Beacon was founded in 2023 by Stuart Szabo and Aditya Mhatre and operates from Toronto and Montreal. The company recently completed a CAD $5.25 million seed round to accelerate development of the Super App and its financial offerings.
- Foresight
Participated · Equity · Dec 2020
Foresight provides a workers’ compensation platform that wraps Safesite risk-management technology and services into every policy, using an algorithm that leverages Safesite data to predict incidents and highlight risks. A study by actuarial consulting firm Perr & Knight cited incident reductions of up to 57% when using the platform. Foresight focuses on mid-market workers’ comp policies in the $150,000 to $1M+ annual premium range, a segment the company says has been overlooked by other insurtechs. The company launched in August and has already covered $30 million in risks, and says it is on pace to reach $50 million in underwritten premium in 2021. Foresight was developed by co-founders David Fontain, Peter Grant and Leigh Appel and leverages data from sister company Safesite to drive lower incident rates and premiums for customers.
