Overview

MSW was created in 2000 by Prof. Moises Swirski, PhD in Finance, Stern School of Business. After an early career as an educator in finance, Moises decided to establish a consulting boutique to meet the demand of alumni for independent investment and acquisition evaluations. The clients were of a very diverse profile, from large corporations with demands for performance systems to entrepreneurs who want to change their trajectory and find new partners and capital for their projects. Customer challenges shaped MSW. First, it expanded services for the construction of Business Plans and Valuation. He then took on the responsibility of managing the complete M & A cycle. These advances have led MSW to build the necessary governance to drive new steps for small and medium-sized enterprises. More recently, MSW has advanced to Venture Capital, in particular, for the management of a seed capital fund (FIP MSW BR Startups Capital Seed).

  • Speedbird Aero

    Led · Seed · Aug 2023

Speedbird Aero is a Brazilian startup focused on unmanned aerial logistics, designing and manufacturing its own fleet of 35 delivery drones that can transport food, lab samples, and other small payloads. The company has been working with food-delivery giant iFood since 2019 and has already completed more than 2,000 commercial drone deliveries on its Campinas and Aracaju pilot routes, with plans to launch service in the São Paulo metro area. Beyond Brazil, Speedbird’s aircraft are operating in Israel, Portugal, Italy, and the United Kingdom, and the team is preparing to enter the United States. To support this expansion, the firm is relocating its headquarters to São José dos Campos, close to strategic partner Embraer, whose venture fund MSW joined the cap table in an earlier round. Former Eve Air Mobility CEO André Stein will lead the startup’s new international phase. Financially, Speedbird raised R$35 million in a 2022 Series A and has now secured a US$5.8 million bridge round while planning a Series B for later in 2026. The fresh funds will be used to scale operations, secure additional regulatory certifications, and open new domestic and international routes.

  • Voltbras

    Led · Series A · Jul 2023

VoltBras offers a white-label management and payment platform for electric vehicle charging that lets charge-point operators create customized tariff models and fully control charging operations. For drivers the company provides a branded mobile app to track recharge history, plan refuels and unlock charging equipment. The startup says the newly raised capital will be used to bring more technology to Brazil's nascent EV market and to strengthen charging infrastructure. VoltBras closed a R$12 million Series A led by MSW Capital through its MSW MultiCorp2 fund. Founded in 2018 by Bernardo Durieux, Carlos Eduardo Libardo, Eduardo Henke and Rodolfo Levien, the company is focused on expanding tools and infrastructure for e-mobility in Brazil. The coverage cites a Boston Consulting Group study forecasting 160× growth in plug-in and battery EV fleets to 2030 and estimating R$14 billion will be needed in charging infrastructure by 2035, underscoring the market opportunity. Voltbras offers a platform to manage charging stations and a driver app that enables planning of recharges, network visualization, charging history tracking, and remote unlocking of equipment. The company developed a 100% white‑label solution in partnership with EDP after its initial 2019 investment, which became a leading mobility technology in Brazil. Its platform is used by major players in Brazil and the startup has partnerships with energy companies, automakers, electric fleets and fuel stations. The R$3 million investment will be used to improve user experience, integrate different charging networks, and increase profitability for charging‑station operators. Voltbras aims to address charging infrastructure barriers to EV adoption and to support the creation of the network needed for broader mobility electrification. The article frames this market opportunity with 2021 Brazilian EV sales of 34,990 units and growth in public/semi‑public charging points from roughly 500 in March 2021 to 754 in July 2021.
