Overview
MVC provide long-term equity and debt investment capital to fund growth, acquisitions and recapitalizations of small and middle-market companies in a variety of industries primarily located in the U.S. MVC's investments can take the form of common and preferred stock (control and non-control investments) and warrants or rights to acquire equity interests; senior and subordinated loans; or convertible securities. MVC serves as the lead investor for transactions, as well as a co-investor in companies along with other private equity sponsors.

Biovation Holdings manufactures environmentally friendly, organic and sustainable laminate materials and composites from corn and soybean co-products. Through a proprietary process the company extrudes its organic material into flat sheets or rolls that can be printed upon and textured. Its products are produced without formaldehyde or other hazardous substances commonly found in conventional laminates. The company will initially target the decorative laminates market under its Biosurf brand and anticipates longer-term applications in decorative lighting, military, transportation, print media and electronics. Led by CTO Michael Riebel, Biovation intends to use external funding to grow the business and bring additional products to market. The company is based in Mankato, Minnesota.
