SeptRx is developing the SeptRx Intrapocket PFO Occluder (IPO), a platform for percutaneous transcatheter closure of patent foramen ovale. The IPO completed an 11-patient first-in-human trial that the company reports showed 100% closure and 100% safety out to three years. SeptRx plans a larger European trial, InterSEPT, with sites in Frankfurt, Germany and Massy, France; data from that study will be used to apply for CE marking. The company says its recent Series A funding is intended to carry it through CE mark registration and position it for initial commercialization efforts in Europe.
