Overview
The NetApp portfolio of leading data, application, and storage solutions helps organizations manage applications and data everywhere across hybrid multi-cloud environments. Their 30 years of innovation have made them the proven leader in all-flash storage. They have the only enterprise-grade storage OS available natively on the world’s biggest public clouds. Their data services offer the best security and protection in the industry. They have CloudOps services that will revolutionize how companies work in the cloud. And that’s just scratching the surface. The following values inform every decision NetApp makes—from customer interactions and social causes to designing solutions and supporting their employees. At NetApp, living these values is essential. Put the customer at the center - You don’t become a deeply trusted, indispensable partner without listening to customers, walking in their shoes, and propelling your orbit with a strong point of view. Care for each other and our communities - Caring for each other and our communities takes large doses of humility and kindness—mixed with building deep, authentic connections and topped with an unwavering commitment to collaboration. Build belonging every day - By embedding diversity and inclusion into every decision that we make, we open the door to other voices, different perspectives, and most important, our true potential for innovation. Embrace a growth mindset - We step out of our comfort zone even when it's scary and learn from both our failures and our successes. This keeps us from stepping into the dreaded fixed-mindset quicksand. Think and act like owners - Showing up with our A game, being accountable, and acting with speed and integrity are the keys to unlocking the sense of ownership that's necessary to create the future. Celebrating differences, embracing new solutions - To our NetApp® team, “walking the talk" means we must hold ourselves accountable in our work toward greater demographic, physical and cognitive diversity. Embracing a culture of diversity requires that we create opportunities for equity, inclusion, diversity, and belonging (DEI&B) every day. And the culture of inclusion at NetApp fosters a strong community that’s empowered to innovate. The diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging goals are a continuous process of self-reflection and growth, to build belonging within our culture, values and business practices. "We believe that the strongest and most creative teams have the best talent, are unified in purpose, and diverse in thought and background representing the customers and communities we serve." George Kurian, CEO, NetApp

- Diskover
Participated · Seed · Jun 2025
Diskover offers a patented real-time metadata indexing and orchestration platform that continuously scans and indexes billions of unstructured files across complex hybrid environments. It organizes metadata in business-relevant terms to create a real-time inventory that enables search, classification, governance, and routing while honoring existing enterprise permissions. The platform is designed to identify high-quality, relevant data for enterprise AI pipelines and to improve security posture and storage efficiency. Diskover serves 130-plus enterprise customers across industries including media and entertainment, life sciences, semiconductor design, energy, and manufacturing. The company recently closed a $7.5M seed round, announced partnerships with Snowflake and NetApp, and has a commercial relationship with Dell. Diskover also acquired CloudSoda to add usability and natural-language AI agent capabilities; terms were not disclosed. The financing will be used to expand engineering capacity and support its growing roster of go-to-market partners as it further integrates with customers' strategic data platforms.
- MemVerge
Participated · Equity · May 2020
MemVerge is the inventor of Memory Machine software, which provides data services such as ZeroIO Snapshot and memory replication to address application data persistence directly in memory. The technology is compatible with existing and future applications and aims to make data‑centric workloads — including AI/ML, trading and financial market data analytics, and high‑performance computing — easier to develop and deploy. Enterprises use MemVerge in bare metal, cloud, container and virtual environments to train and infer from models faster, work with larger in‑memory datasets, complete queries more quickly, and consistently replicate memory between servers. Its software is used by leading enterprises for their data‑intensive workloads. The company raised $19M in funding and intends to use the proceeds to advance development of Memory Machine and build out sales and marketing functions. MemVerge develops Memory-Converged Infrastructure (MCI), a software layer that eliminates boundaries between memory and storage to run data-intensive workloads at memory speed. Its technology leverages Intel Optane DC persistent memory and a distributed memory objects (DMO) layer to increase memory size and data I/O speed while guaranteeing data consistency across systems. The platform is architected to integrate with existing applications and targets AI, machine learning, big data analytics, IoT and data warehousing workloads. MemVerge says leading innovators including LinkedIn, Tencent Cloud and JD.com use its technology for AI and data science workloads. The company emerged from stealth with a Series A and plans to use the proceeds to expand engineering, sales and marketing in Silicon Valley and to accelerate R&D on MCI.
- Portworx
Participated · Series C · Mar 2019
Portworx provides a cloud-native storage and data-management platform that creates a persistent storage layer for stateful containers running on Kubernetes, supporting databases such as Cassandra, Redis and MySQL. Its tools simplify data migration, backups and disaster recovery across clouds and data centers. The company released an updated Portworx Enterprise with enhanced data security, role-based access controls beyond Kubernetes, incremental cross-region backups and synchronous dual-zone writes to enable near-zero data loss. Portworx said it added over 100% more customers in the past year and increased total bookings by 376% year‑over‑year. To support that growth it plans to expand its international sales force and customer support teams. Portworx provides scheduler-integrated data services that enable enterprises to run stateful containers on-premises, in the cloud, or in hybrid environments. Its technology integrates with container schedulers such as Kubernetes, Docker Swarm and Mesosphere to support databases, messaging queues, CI/CD, big data and content management. Customers include GE Digital, Lufthansa Systems, University of Toronto, TGen and Fortune 500 banking and entertainment companies. The company plans to add features including data encryption and access controls, hybrid and multi-cloud data management, and deeper scheduler integrations. Portworx is led by CEO and co-founder Murli Thirumale. The company raised additional funding to accelerate enterprise sales and continue product roadmap development. Portworx develops storage software that provides elastic scale-out block storage natively to Docker containers, enabling containerized applications to run directly on the storage infrastructure. Led by CEO Murli Thirumale, the company announced PWX Converged Infrastructure for Containers (available August 2015) which combines container-aware storage, self-service software-defined storage, and converged storage to maximize I/O performance. PWX offers container-level snapshots, data persistence across nodes, and storage policies at container granularity. Its Elastic Storage Orchestrator auto-scales block storage and moves storage blocks across nodes to optimize performance and ensure high availability. The company is based in Redwood City, California, and recently completed an $8.5M initial funding round.
