Founded in 2023 by former GitHub executive Jason Warner and entrepreneur Eiso Kant, Poolside operates between the United States and Paris with a core product that automates software development for government and defence customers. The startup’s larger ambition is to create AI technology capable of executing a wide spectrum of tasks beyond current industry capabilities. Poolside has rapidly gained attention due to its aggressive technical roadmap and seasoned leadership team. To support its compute-intensive workloads, the company has partnered with CoreWeave to build Project Horizon, a West Texas data centre expected to reach 2 GW of capacity. Part of the incoming capital will be earmarked for Nvidia’s GB300 chips, underscoring the tight alignment between the two companies. Poolside’s valuation has surged to $12 billion, quadrupling from $3 billion the previous year. Existing investors have already supplied roughly $700 million, positioning the firm for accelerated growth once the latest round closes.
