StageZero inserts in-app "MicroTasks" into mobile games and e-learning platforms so motivated users complete bite-sized activities in exchange for rewards. Tasks include drawing boxes around objects for image labeling and providing simple audible translations, producing computer vision and NLP training data. The company emphasizes data privacy and says its data is 100% GDPR-compliant. StageZero plans to expand its team, refine product efficiencies, and build tools to help companies ethically develop AI systems. The startup employs a team of 11 and has to-date raised $2.8M. Founded in 2016 in Helsinki, the company targets hard-to-collect, labeled datasets for use cases from autonomous vehicles to virtual assistants.
