Boost Communications develops a mobile and web advertising and marketing platform for large international agencies and brands. Founded in 2000 as a spin-off from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology by Oystein Skiri (CEO), the company’s software manages advertising activities including mobile campaigns, media buying and reporting. It owns a 75% stake in Boostcom Media, which focuses on delivering software and services for mobile campaigning. Boost works with international brands such as Telenor, Etisalat, Perform Group, Manchester City Football Club and Starcom. The company has offices in London, Dubai and Krakow and intends to use the newly raised funds to expand its international presence. Financially, Boost raised £1m in the reported round and had previously raised £3.7m between 2012 and 2013. Boost Communications AS is a Trondheim-based provider of mobile Internet solutions, founded in 2000 as a spin-off from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology by CEO Øystein R. Skiri. The company comprises three entities, holding a 50.1% stake in Boostcom Media and 100% in Boost Advertising. Boostcom Media powers customer loyalty clubs for some 100 shopping malls across the Nordics, while Boost Advertising operates Madmaker™, a do-it-yourself mobile ad maker that allows users to create mobile campaign sites without technical or design skills. Clients include Al Jazeera, FC Barcelona, The Times, Polaris Media and Telenor. The company had a turnover of €3.3m in 2011 and maintains satellite offices in Oslo, Johannesburg and Dubai. Boost intends to use the new funding to expand internationally.
