VSParticle develops nanoparticle synthesis and deposition tools, notably the VSP-P1 Nanoprinter, that let researchers produce nanoparticles and new materials with a button push. Its technology aims to compress material discovery timelines from as long as 15 years to about one year by enabling high-throughput experimentation and integration with autonomous labs using robotics and AI. Over the past year VSP shipped VSP-P1 units to customers in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America, including Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, MDRI, and the Dutch Institute for Fundamental Energy Research. The printers can mass-produce catalyst-coated porous transport layers (PTLs) for electrolyzers and are predicted to deliver up to tenfold savings in scarce metals such as iridium. VSP expects the first components developed using its technology to reach the market by 2027. The company positions itself at the forefront of the self-driving lab revolution, enabling AI-driven automation and high-throughput synthesis for energy and nanotechnology applications. VSParticle develops nanoparticle printing tools and services that break materials down to the size of nanoparticles and enable production for research and commercial R&D. Its core product set is aimed at accelerating material development to power next‑generation products. The technology is applicable across multiple industries, starting with the production of Catalyst Coated Membranes (CCM) for sustainable hydrogen innovations and next‑generation gas sensors. The company has built relationships in the CCM and precious metal markets, including with Heraeus Precious Metals, to support its launch of production tools. Management plans to scale up production of its tools and expand operations and commercial teams using the recent financing. VSParticle was founded in 2014 and was born out of decades of materials‑science research at TU Delft.

VIVOLTA develops and manufactures electrospun medical products and operates as a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) for clients. It uses a proprietary, fully automated MediSpin™ production platform—described in the article as the world’s first—to enable high-throughput manufacturing of tubular electrospun products such as vascular stent grafts and prosthetic heart valves. In 2021 the company transitioned from an equipment manufacturer (formerly IME) into a CDMO and has secured development partnerships with leading medical device manufacturers and startups. VIVOLTA is concentrating on near-term application areas including cardiovascular medicine, soft tissue repair and reconstruction, orthopaedic sports medicine, and advanced drug delivery systems. The new funding is intended to strengthen application development, engineering, commercial support, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing capabilities and to expand ISO class 7 production area footprint in preparation for clinical and commercial launches over the coming three years. Shareholders named in the article include TIIN Capital, Lumana Invest, Borski Fund, and Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij. IME Medical Electrospinning develops electrospun, fiber-based medical device solutions that mimic the human extracellular matrix in nanometer and micrometer format for implants and membranes. The company applies specific polymers to produce scaffolds used in heart valves, blood vessels, nerves, tendons, skin and bone repair. Its MediSpin™ XL platform was developed for MedTech industrial manufacturing and ensures firm control of critical electrospinning parameters, producing identical and consistent end-products. The MediSpin XL platform is now also suitable for pharmaceutical drug-delivery applications. Customers and scientific partners include the MedTech and Pharma industry, scientists and health institutions. The business is led by Managing Directors Ramon Solberg and Judith Heikoop.
