  Hawkers designs and sells affordable sunglasses (priced €25–€30) with a single core style offered in many lens and frame color combinations and frequent collaborations with celebrities and brands. The company manages design and works with a small number of producers across China, Italy and Spain. About 90% of sales come direct-to-consumer via its site; it has sold 3.5 million pairs across 50 countries. Hawkers reports an annual turnover of €70 million, is already profitable, and projected revenues of €150 million in 2017 and €300 million in 2018. The company spends little on traditional marketing, focusing on social media and sponsorships to convert fans to customers. Planned uses of new funding include European expansion (Italy, Germany, Australia, France, Portugal and the U.K.), opening physical concept stores, and R&D into new materials, online marketing techniques and acquisitions. The firm has also discussed future interest in smart eyewear and collaborations with companies like Snapchat.
