Catchwise integrates SAT-AIS satellite ship-tracking data, 20 years of fishery records, and comprehensive ocean metrics into a platform offering real-time visualizations, predictive analytics, and operations automations for fishing vessels. The company says its solution can significantly reduce search time and ultimately cut fuel consumption by up to 50%. Today the platform supports over 50 vessels daily and serves 20 paying customers who together manage more than 50 fishing vessels. The founding team—Ludvig A. Løddesøl, Tomas Roaldsnes, Jonas Dammen, Kristian Andersen Hole, and Åsmund Brekke—brought AI and commercial fishing experience together after winning the FishAI: Sustainable Commercial Fishing competition in 2022. With new funding, Catchwise is focused on ensuring product-market fit across various fisheries and developing an operational at-sea AI solution to further automate and optimize fishing operations.
