Abram Scientific is a Menlo Park-based medical device company focused on next-generation coagulation diagnostics. Its flagship product, CoagCare™, is a handheld meter and single-use test card that delivers a full viscoelastic profile of the blood-clotting cascade, including fibrinolysis, in under ten minutes from a single drop of blood. This speed markedly improves on existing thromboelastography and thromboelastometry systems, which often require 30–60 minutes, making CoagCare suitable for critical settings such as trauma bays, operating rooms, ambulances, and MEDEVAC helicopters. The platform’s portability and vibration-insensitive design aim to extend laboratory-grade accuracy to remote or pre-hospital environments. Abram holds 17 issued patents covering the technology and is working toward U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance. The newly raised capital will fund product development, clinical validation, and regulatory submissions. Strategic collaborations with Octapharma and the University of Colorado Anschutz provide additional clinical expertise and commercialization pathways.
