Blue Energy Motors (BEM) focuses on producing LNG-powered heavy-duty trucks and is preparing to introduce an electric truck line. The company positions itself as India’s largest maker of LNG trucks, having sold about 1,000 vehicles that have already logged over 60 million kilometres and cut more than 15,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. BEM’s plant has an annual capacity of 10,000 trucks, and new capital will help fully utilise this capability. Backed by Essar and FPT (Iveco Group), the firm has raised a cumulative $50 million to date. Founder and Managing Director Anirudh Bhuwalka sees significant opportunity in fixed-route short-haul corridors for EV adoption. The company introduced LNG technology three years ago and now aims to scale both LNG and EV offerings to accelerate India’s transition to green mobility.
