Chekkit builds a sticker-based authentication system that uses encrypted USSD codes and QR codes to verify products, plus aggregated surveys that drive instant rewards for consumers. The company also offers distribution tracking and point-of-sale consumer engagement tools for brands and regulators. Chekkit reports securing over 7 million pharmaceutical products and protecting more than 200,000 consumers, and has expanded a partnership with the Afghanistan government to verify and track over 200 million products. Clients include global pharmaceutical and FMCG firms such as Merck, Royal Star Pharma, Nabros Pharmaceutical, Indomie, Nivea, and Flour Mills of Nigeria. The startup incentives users with airtime (₦100 after five verifications) and plans to launch a consumer-intelligence SaaS to run end-to-end loyalty campaigns, aggregate engagement data, and distribute rewards. Chekkit was founded in 2018 and will use new funding to improve its technology and hire more staff as it scales.
