Lora DiCarlo builds micro-robotic sexual-health devices, most notably Osé, a hands-free product that uses biomimicry and robotics to simultaneously stimulate the G-spot and clitoris. Osé's micro-robotic technology is designed to mimic the sensation of a human mouth, tongue and fingers to produce a blended orgasm. The company plans to open pre-orders this summer at a retail price of $290 with an expected official release this fall, and is hiring ahead of that launch. Four additional devices are in development—one for clitoral stimulation, one for clitoral and vaginal stimulation, one for stimulation anywhere on the body, and another offering a different approach for people with vulvas. Next year the company plans to integrate its products with virtual reality, a move it says will require a larger capital raise. The company announced a $2M infusion of funding from new and existing investors led by the Oregon Opportunity Zone Limited Partnership to support hiring and the upcoming product launch. Following a public controversy in which CES revoked and later re-awarded an innovation prize, Lora DiCarlo and CEO Haddock have been working with the Consumer Technology Association to make the show more inclusive for sextech and women's health companies. Lora DiCarlo develops Osé, a microrobotic sexual stimulator engineered to produce hands-free blended orgasms and tailored to each woman’s unique physiology. The female engineering team, working with Oregon State University researchers, used biomimicry to translate mouth, tongue, and finger-like haptics into microrobotic mechanisms intended to feel like a human partner. Osé adjusts to individual anatomy for a personal fit that facilitates orgasm. The company is led by founder and CEO Lora Haddock and is based in Bend, Oregon. In November 2018 Lora DiCarlo raised $1.1m in research, engineering and product development funding from the Oregon Opportunity Zone Limited Partnership. The funding will support product development, intellectual property protection, and a full unveiling of Osé at the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2019.
