Collective Retreats is an experiential outdoor travel company led by CEO and Founder Peter Mack that operates luxury retreats which embrace local landscapes and culture. The company operates locations in Vail, Colorado; Hill Country, Texas; and Governors Island, New York, and has acquired three new retreats in Vermont’s Green Mountains, Sonoma County, California, and Aspen, Colorado. Collective Retreats plans to open 25 new locations over the next four years. The company raised $23M in a Series C round led by Fireside Investments and Outdoorsy, with participation from existing investors including Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund. Jonathan Langer, Founder and Managing Member of Fireside Investments, will join the company’s board of directors. Funds will be used to create new destinations and experiences and reinforce the popularity of its outdoor hospitality offerings; the company is launching a partnership with Outdoorsy that includes Governors Island bookings starting June 15 and a fall accommodation offering to allow Outdoorsy customers to stay in campervans at Collective Retreats locations. Collective Retreats is a Wolcott, CO-based exploration and adventure-focused travel platform co-founded by Cristina DeVito and Peter Mack. It offers luxury yet rugged retreat experiences that combine accommodations, dining, design, personalized guest attention, and insider tips. The company currently operates retreats in Vail and Yellowstone. Collective Retreats raised $2.5M in seed funding. Backers included Slow Ventures, BBG Ventures, BoxGroup and First Round Capital. The company said it will use the funds to continue expanding operations and add new locations.
