  Getable offers free apps that let construction crews track equipment they own and manage orders from third-party rental agencies. The platform aggregates rental vendors and pricing, giving contractors choice based on relationships, negotiated pricing, or volume incentives. Getable takes a 10 percent commission on equipment ordered through the app. The service also provides transparency on assets under management, associated costs, and utilization by job. Adoption is rising as the industry increasingly rents equipment—about 50 percent of equipment on job sites is rented—and mobile device use on sites is high. Getable plans to expand nationwide through partnerships with construction equipment rental agencies. Getable operates an online platform that connects customers with rental merchants across tool, party, sporting and other equipment rental categories. Launched in 2010 by Tim Hyer (CEO) and Kevin Halter (VP of Business Development), the company offers reservations and recently unveiled an iPhone construction rental application to enable real-time connections between merchants and customers. The company intends to use the capital to hire engineers and further develop its product. Getable added Mikeal Rogers as CTO. The article does not disclose revenue or user metrics. Getable offers a cloud-based in-store and online management system and consumer marketplace that lets local rental shops organize inventory, customer data, payments and accept realtime reservations. The product includes web and iPad apps, hardware-and-software in-store terminals, an embeddable widget, and realtime analytics. The company has deployed its rental management technology with ten early partners in San Francisco and reports more than 100,000 unique rental listings in the San Francisco Bay Area. To date Getable has processed $250K in rental transactions and has formed partnerships with nationwide services including Rent The Runway, Adorn, and BorrowLenses, and is negotiating with Toygaroo. The startup rebranded from Rentcycle to Getable to signal broader, on-demand access across product categories and is targeting San Francisco for critical mass with plans to expand to other cities later in the year.
