App.io (formerly Kickfolio) provides a platform that lets developers upload mobile app builds and run native iOS apps in the browser via HTML5, offering playable demos to broader audiences. The service is positioned as a marketing and distribution tool rather than a replacement for app-store versions. App.io has integrated with Facebook to allow apps to be embedded and tried directly inside the News Feed. Its client base includes over 3,000 developers who have served roughly 135,000 installs combined; 12% of demos lead to the App Store and average demo engagement is 1 minute 19 seconds. The company also serves growing enterprise customers using the platform for sales, customer service, and internal testing, and has integrations with services such as cisimple and AppLaunch.us. App.io plans to support Android and other platforms, to launch tracking and analytics, and to add further integrations with social networks and ad networks.
