Bluestar Genomics builds cell-free DNA-based liquid-biopsy assays that use 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) signals combined with machine learning to detect cancers across multiple organs. The company’s core product is a noninvasive blood-draw screening platform targeting early detection where curative therapies are possible. Bluestar has published positive results in studies in Nature Communications and earned the FDA’s breakthrough device designation for its proprietary pancreatic cancer detection test. The company says its approach has materially reduced the cost of multi-cancer screening and targets broad commercial opportunity. Management is advancing development and commercialization efforts and has expanded its Scientific Advisory Board with Drs. Felix Feng and Craig Venter to accelerate those plans. Bluestar was founded based on the work of Dr. Stephen Quake and is led by CEO and CSO Samuel Levy, Ph.D.
