Amino Health operates a data-driven care navigation platform that connects people with high-quality, cost-effective providers and benefits programs, leveraging more than 30 billion healthcare claims to inform recommendations. The platform simplifies complex employer benefit plans and routes more than 10,000 medical topics to the best provider, facility, or employer program. Amino says it is the only platform able to incorporate the complexity of modern employer benefit programs. The company will use the new $10 million investment to accelerate its AI product roadmap and build personalized patient care journeys. Over the last year Amino’s product and clinical teams have used AI to generate thousands of new care topics covering expanded primary care, women’s health, LGBTQ+ health, complex diseases, and pediatric and geriatric care. The $10M capital infusion follows a $30M investment by Transformation Capital in May 2023 and will be used to strengthen AI capabilities, expand the team, and drive product innovation. Amino ranks physicians using analysis of insurance claims and medical billing records to match patients with doctors most experienced in treating their particular ailment. The platform lets users filter providers by scores such as likelihood to perform a certain procedure, location, and insurance acceptance, and includes a cost-estimation tool plus a virtual assistant to book and confirm appointments. CEO and co-founder David Vivero says Amino’s dataset covers roughly 910,000 U.S. physicians and estimated costs for about 100 common procedures. The company began by solving consumer search but is expanding to work with health insurers, integrated delivery networks, employers, and provider groups. Amino positions its data and analytical tools to help payers and providers design premiums, assess physician quality, and plan service locations. Financially, the company disclosed a $25 million Series C led by Highland Capital. Amino operates a web-based consumer healthcare search platform that uses de-identified insurance claims to match patients with physicians based on clinical experience and personalized “decision factors.” Its database covers claims tied to roughly 188 million Americans and more than 3.9 billion data points, and the service supports searches across about 900 medical conditions. Users can filter by location, insurance acceptance and other patient-centric preferences, and the site is free to use today; appointment booking is available but sometimes handled by Amino staff via phone rather than fully automated. The company plans to expand its decision factors and move toward all-digital appointment booking to improve scalability. Amino says it may pursue monetization later, including licensing analytic results to insurers, self-insured employers or health IT companies, but currently has no paid listings or ads. Co-founder and CEO David Vivero, a former Zillow VP, started work on the business in late 2013 and leads product and go-to-market efforts.
