Ambi Robotics develops full-stack robotic parcel-sorting solutions driven by its AmbiOS operating system and Sim2Real AI, and ships the AmbiSort A-Series automated sorting hardware. The AmbiSort A-Series v3 is ANSI safety compliant and uses a proprietary soft-touch end effector to handle boxes, flats, polybags and other deformable or rigid items. Each warehouse associate can work alongside three to four AmbiSort systems, increasing throughput-per-employee to over 1,200 items sorted per hour with more than 99% accuracy. The company is actively deploying more than 80 new AmbiSort A-Series systems across the U.S. under a $23 million deployment expansion deal with Pitney Bowes. Ambi is positioning to expand deployments, broaden its product portfolio, and grow engineering, customer support, operations and supply chain teams. The company was founded in 2018 and is based in Berkeley, Calif. Ambi Robotics builds AI-powered pick-and-place robotics systems for warehouses and fulfillment centers. Its products include the AmbiSort and AmbiKit, which the company began deploying in October of last year. Ambi emphasizes AI as its primary differentiation, aiming to transform item handlers into "robot handlers," per CEO Jim Liefer. It has enlisted partners including Pitney Bowes and began commercial deployments despite only coming out of stealth in April. The company plans to use new funding to scale both its systems and the team that builds them and to deploy additional units. Ambi is Bay Area–based and previously emerged from stealth with a $6 million raise. Ambi Robotics develops AmbiOS, a simulation-to-reality robot operating system that trains deep-learning models in simulation and transfers them to physical robotic hardware. AmbiOS powers two flagship products: AmbiSort, a gantry-based parcel sortation system, and AmbiKit, an autonomous piece-picking solution for e-commerce kitting. The company says AmbiSort achieves superhuman sorting, handling rigid and deformable items at roughly twice the speed of manual picking while improving traceability. AmbiKit is designed to reduce fulfillment costs and eliminate kitting line changeover downtime. Ambi Robotics leverages Dex-Net technology, proprietary grippers, and advanced vision to operate 24/7 and scale with surging e-commerce demand. The company raised $6.1 million in seed funding to support deployment of more AI-powered robotic systems across its U.S. customer base.
