- Transitry
Participated · Seed · Jun 2023
Transitry builds a purpose-built blockchain digital MRV platform that ensures traceability of sustainable activities and credibility of generated carbon credits. Its product suite includes a predictive AI model to forecast future carbon-credit sales, integration of near real-time data and smart sensors, and a secure API that connects insurance and banking to sustainability and carbon projects. The platform analyzes past practices and future interventions to deliver transparent reporting, continuous monitoring, and actionable insights on climate, soil, and crop conditions. Stakeholders named in the company’s ecosystem include farm owners (corporate and smallholder), carbon project developers, NGOs/FPOs, input providers, financial institutions, carbon registries, auditors, and carbon credit buyers. Transitry raised US$600,000 in a pre-seed funding round at the beginning of 2023 and is using the financing to expand its team, forge partnerships, and accelerate product development. The company plans to focus on data and risk analytics, generative AI for carbon credit origination, and carbon project management while driving market adoption of nature-based solutions.
- AlterPacks
Led · Seed · Jan 2023
Alterpacks manufactures food containers by upcycling spent grains — a by-product of food and beer production — using a process similar to paper pulp manufacturing. Its molded containers are freezer- and microwave-friendly and are home compostable. The company sells via a B2B model through distribution partners to F&B businesses like restaurants and hotels; its containers have been commercially available since December. Alterpacks can produce at scale with automated machines that clean raw materials, mix formulations, and press containers into different shapes. It is also developing bio-pellets made from spent grains and other agricultural waste such as coconut shells to replace petroleum-based resins. Founded in 2019 and based in Singapore, the startup plans to use new funding to commercialize production and supply in markets across Asia, Australia, and Europe.
