Unreel.me is a technology-driven video streaming company focused on OTT distribution and provides a customizable video player for networks and publishers. The platform builds big-data-focused OTT apps and sites as an alternative to satellite and cable distribution. It gives publishers full control over their content and a centralized hub to manage data, content and users across multiple apps. The company was launched in 2015 by advertising and media veterans Dan Goikhman, Krish Arvapally, Ryan James and Akshay Arvapally. Unreel.me recently raised $1.5M in a Pre-Series A financing and intends to use the funds to expand the team, support growth of its owned-and-operated and partner streaming services, and scale operations. Unreel Entertainment is a San Mateo, CA-based social video startup co-founded by Dan Goikhman and Krish Arvapally in early 2015. Its core product uses data and an AI crawler called Bumblebee to crawl the web and index trending scenes in online video based on engagement data from Twitter, Reddit, YouTube, and Facebook. Unreel catalogs video moments internet users are talking about for discovery and sharing across social media. The company provides tools for content creators, publishers, and MCNs to create, distribute, and monetize video networks through advertising, paywalls or subscriptions, and e-commerce. It will use the funds to release publishing tools for content creators and owners to better understand and monetize their video libraries and audiences. The beta has about 100,000 monthly active viewers month-to-date, and partners include Malka Media, GTChannel, SurrealVR, MMA League World Series of Fighting, and the upcoming comedy horror Paranormal Activity Security Squad.
