Kujira runs SEKAI HOTEL, a renovation-driven hospitality model that transforms shopping-street vacancies, empty houses, and unused storefronts into a single, town-wide hotel. Instead of concentrating amenities in one building, guest rooms are placed in refurbished houses, meals are taken at nearby restaurants, and large baths are enjoyed at local public bathhouses, weaving the entire neighborhood into the stay. The company currently operates two sites—Fuse in Higashi-Osaka City and Takaoka City in Toyama Prefecture, the latter opened in December 2022. This approach simultaneously provides travelers with authentic regional experiences and tackles community issues such as vacant property utilization and shopping-street revitalization. With its newly raised capital, Kujira plans to scale the SEKAI HOTEL model nationwide, build regional branding consortiums, deepen collaboration with local governments and merchants, and establish inbound-tourism PR systems. Funds will also support development of digital infrastructure for reservation and operations management, as well as hiring to strengthen organizational capacity. The pre-Series A financing brings fresh resources to accelerate growth, though no revenue or user figures were disclosed.
