  Dog Chef is a Belgian startup that produces fresh, preservative-free meals for dogs and delivers them across the Benelux and, recently, France. Its core product comprises four standard recipes (chicken and rice; beef and potatoes; duck and sweet potatoes; fish and quinoa) developed by veterinary nutritionists. The company uses an algorithm that calculates tailor-made daily portions based on ten parameters including age, breed, weight, build and activity level. Meals contain no additives or preservatives, and owners can add supplements; Dog Chef has developed supplements targeted at older or sick animals. Founded in 2017, the company plans to expand operations by developing a workshop near Brussels and is preparing a recruiting spree for meal preparation, customer service and marketing roles. It also intends to overhaul its brand and visual identity ahead of scaling.
