- Trillbit
Led · Seed · Sep 2021
Trillbit builds a proximity intelligence platform that lets standard audio speakers and smart devices communicate and authenticate using acoustic channels without the need for internet or any additional hardware. Its technology transmits data over sound so any existing device with a microphone can operate on the platform with no added infrastructure. The company says its protocol is PSD2‑compliant and is aimed at IoT authentication and voice commerce use cases, positioning itself to help circumvent deep fakes. Trillbit is Techstars- and Cisco-backed and claims to be working with several companies across India and the US on applications from device provisioning to device authentication. Founded in 2017 by Bhaskar Deo, Shashikant Burnwal, and Mrigesh Parashar, it is Boston-based with an office in Bengaluru. The startup raised $1.5M in seed funding to be used for business development activities in the USA and other geographies.
