Aurie is a New York medtech startup founded in 2018 that has developed a reusable, no-touch intermittent catheter system designed to cut the risk of urinary tract infections for people with spinal cord injuries. The system targets roughly 600,000 American users who rely on catheters and aims to improve safety and quality of life for people who have lost lower-limb use. Following a US launch, the company is looking to expand into the Australian market. Aurie completed a US$6.0 million (A$9.1 million) Seed raise led by existing investor Lakehouse Ventures, with participation from Remarkable. Remarkable invested through its Scaler initiative, the venture arm of the Cerebral Palsy Alliance and Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation. The financing is positioned to support the company’s commercial expansion and continued product development.
