Team Vitality is an international esports organisation founded in 2013 that fields competitive squads across nine games with ten teams and players from ten nationalities. It is one of the biggest esports teams in Europe, is a franchised member of the League of Legends European Championship, and has won major tournaments including the 2019 Rocket League World Championship and ECS season seven in CS:GO. The organisation has blue-chip sponsors including Orange, Renault, Red Bull and adidas and has launched branded merchandise such as a limited-edition adidas trainer. Financially, Rewired.GG has invested a total of €34 million to date, including a €20 million injection in November 2018 and a further €14 million announced today. The funds will support expansion into India and China through player acquisitions and a network of esports academies, new player signings, global merchandise rollouts, and the opening of V.Hive, the team’s public Paris headquarters. Team Vitality aims to become one of the world’s first $1 billion esports teams and the release frames the raise within broader, rapidly growing esports monetization trends. Team Vitality is a France-based esports organization and one of the ten long-term partners entering the League of Legends European Championship (LEC). The team recently entered Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with an all-French roster. Team Vitality announced a €20 million investment from London-based billionaire and philanthropist Tej Kohli. The company plans to use the funding to develop “state of the art” training and performance centers. It also intends to expand its footprint in Southeast Asia and China. Co-founder and CEO Nicolas Maurer and co-founder and president Fabien Devide framed the investment as a step toward their global ambitions.
