- Sound Health
Participated · Seed · Jul 2024
SoundHealth develops personalized, AI-enabled, non-invasive medical and wellness devices targeting breathing and sleep disorders. Its flagship FDA-cleared Sonu band has delivered more than 500,000 acoustic resonance treatment sessions for users ages 12 and up and is described as a leading steroid alternative for congestion due to allergic and non-allergic rhinitis. The company has built a craniofacial anatomical dataset used to personalize treatments and to underpin its Spatial Sleep product, which the company says is the world’s first clinically proven personalized sleep wellness device and has been shown to help users fall asleep faster and sleep longer. SoundHealth is recommended by more than 1,000 medical and dental professionals nationwide. Following the Series A, the company has $12.25 million in total funding to date to support further growth and commercialization.
- Inflow
Led · Seed · Feb 2021
Inflow, founded in London in 2020 by Levi Epstein, Seb Isaacs and Dr. George Sachs, offers a self-help app that delivers CBT-based daily exercises, habit-development challenges, ADHD-focused mindfulness techniques and community support. The app includes a seven-day free trial and then a subscription model, with an annual plan costing around $200 per year. The founding team includes clinical psychologist Dr. George Sachs, and the company published a peer-reviewed feasibility and usability study and plans a broader randomized controlled trial to assess efficacy. Inflow recently expanded into telehealth via its acquisition of Lina Health in November. The company is a Y Combinator alum and competes with other startups focused on ADHD diagnosis, coaching and telehealth. After a $2.3 million seed round in January, Inflow says it will use new funding to double down on product development and bolster headcount. Inflow offers a clinician- and coach-informed app that guides users through short daily exercises, CBT coping strategies, ADHD-specific mindfulness techniques, habit-building challenges, and educational content. The product is positioned as an on-demand, lower-cost alternative to lengthy and expensive traditional ADHD assessment and care pathways. The company reports being downloaded over 15,000 times per month. Inflow has not yet completed an independent clinical trial but says a trial is planned later this year; it has completed a usability and feasibility study with the University of Richmond (Dr. Laura Knouse) with results submitted to the Journal of Attention Disorders. Founded in 2020 by Seb Isaacs, Levi Epstein, and Dr. George Sachs, the team intends to use new funding to expand staff and roll out additional tools and services. The app competes with general productivity and focus apps but claims ADHD-specific programming informed by clinicians as its differentiator. Inflow offers a seven-week digital programme for people with ADHD, based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and developed with leading figures in the field alongside Clinical Director Dr. George Sachs. The app includes time-management and prioritisation tools, mood tracking, short daily activities, practical challenges and a community of users. The company describes the product as “for people with ADHD, by people with ADHD,” and says over 50 percent of its team identify as neurodiverse. Inflow is currently in closed beta and the platform is set to launch in April. The startup says ADHD affects at least 5 percent of the general population and positions its product as a more accessible, scalable alternative to in-person therapy or medication. Financially, Inflow recently completed a pre-seed funding round to support development and launch.
