  RenBio develops a proprietary MYO (Make Your Own) Technology™ platform for intramuscular electroporation of plasmid DNA that converts muscle cells into in vivo bioreactors to produce therapeutic antibodies and proteins. The platform aims to overcome manufacturing, dosing frequency, duration of efficacy, and cold-chain limitations of typical antibody and protein therapeutics. The company is advancing IND-enabling preclinical activities, including development of a potent anti‑Zika antibody and optimization of DNA-delivered antibody cocktails for influenza. RenBio is collaborating with academic partners (including a DARPA P3 sub-award via Vanderbilt) and has just received new funding to support these programs. It has previously received support from DARPA, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the New York State Biodefense Commercialization Fund. The company has raised $28.0 million to date in Seed and Series A financings. RenBio is a New York-based preclinical biotechnology company focused on antiviral antibody therapeutics and a nucleic acid-based antibody delivery platform called MYO (Make Your Own) Technology™. Its lead compound, RB-100, is a bispecific SARS-CoV-2 antibody in-licensed from Columbia University that has shown robust antiviral activity in preclinical studies against multiple emerging variants. The company intends to use its MYO platform to deliver DNA “bioblueprints” intramuscularly, enabling patients' muscle cells to produce therapeutic antibodies in vivo. RenBio will use the Series A funds to complete IND-enabling preclinical studies and to initiate a Phase 1/2 clinical trial of RB-100 in 2021. The company aims to advance a lead candidate into the clinic within two years and to address manufacturing and delivery challenges of standard protein therapies. RenBio was co-founded by David D. Ho, M.D., and Yaoxing Huang, Ph.D., and is led by Neal N. Padte, Ph.D., and Rachel A. Liberatore, Ph.D.
