Streetlife reports close to 100,000 users across more than 500 communities. Its primary monetization strategy is local advertising, leveraging ties with regional media partners. The company plans to use the new funds for a marketing push to roll the brand out to more of the U.K. and intends to raise a further £3 million by year’s end to expand coverage. Streetlife also benefits from a symbiotic relationship with Archant, where site content feeds stories for local journalists and helps the startup access regional advertisers.
