SLS Venture, a Scandinavian-based venture capital company, is the result of the merger of the life science team from The Sixth Swedish National Pension Fund, Medicon Valley Capital and Innoventus. The fund is one of the largest investment funds in Scandinavia in the life science sector with approx. € 270 M (USD 325 M) under management.

AdvanDx is a Woburn, MA–based developer of rapid and accurate molecular diagnostic tests for identifying pathogens that cause critical infections in hospitalized patients. Led by CEO Dennis Langer, M.D., the company offers tests that produce fast results from positive blood cultures. It recently received CE Mark approval for Candida QuickFISH, a 20-minute test for yeast identification, and has submitted an FDA 510(k) for mecA XpressFISH for rapid MRSA detection. The company closed a $12M Series B-1 financing to support expansion of its molecular diagnostic product offerings. Proceeds will also be used to expand sales and marketing efforts in the U.S. and internationally. The financing reflects a continued commercial and regulatory push to broaden its product portfolio and market reach.
