- MD7
Led · Equity · Feb 2026
MD7 specializes in execution, intelligence, and advisory services that optimize the ownership and operation of mobile network infrastructure for wireless carriers. Its model focuses on asset stewardship and operational alignment, emphasizing long-term stability over purely transactional lease economics. Headquartered in Allen, Texas, with international operations in Dublin, the firm serves operators across North America and Europe. Over more than two decades, MD7 reports having secured more than $2 billion in operating-expense savings for telecommunications clients worldwide, underscoring its impact on cost efficiency. Looking ahead, the company plans to accelerate the acquisition of critically positioned mobile infrastructure assets to give carriers greater certainty in network planning and ownership stability. MD7 sees increasing industry consolidation and complex ownership structures as drivers for its services, positioning itself as a partner that mitigates ownership risk. The firm’s future strategy leverages long-term institutional capital to support more resilient wireless networks and smoother operating-expense forecasts.
- Demand Power Group
Led · Equity · Mar 2020
Demand Power is a Toronto, Ontario firm that provides behind-the-meter energy storage and services using batteries, solar and natural-gas fired generators to improve power reliability and reduce energy costs for manufacturing and industrial operations. The company closed a $71 million financing composed of equity and development/project finance led by Star America, with additional unnamed investors. Star America manages capital from U.S. pensions, insurance firms, asset managers and construction firms and led the round. Christophe Petit, president of Star America, said Demand Power’s services “will lower energy costs, improve grid resiliency, and reduce energy consumption from the highest emission sources during peak use periods.” The raise comes amid broader institutional interest in financing energy storage projects as investment-grade assets. The company sits in a sector where peers have been acquired or are preparing for strategic outcomes, with Demand Energy sold to Enel in 2017 and Greensmith acquired by Wärtsilä in 2017; Stem is noted as reportedly up for sale.
