PECOFREE operates a student-focused food-delivery and school-lunch reservation platform that matches schools and local catering companies and offers a smartphone bento ordering service. The company was founded in February 2021 and is headquartered in Fukuoka City. Since its service launch in April 2021, PECOFREE has been adopted by over 500 facilities including schools, after-school care and companies, and school facility adoption accelerated 2.5x in the current term. The startup positions itself to drive DX in the industrial catering sector while building a monetizable system that combines social impact and commercial viability. PECOFREE says the newly raised funds will be used for system development, app UX improvements and new features, marketing/PR, and new hires. Its stated mission is to connect people through food and become a school food infrastructure that supports children across Japan.
